Connecting Gmail
Connect your Gmail account to sync emails with Aggrandize.
Gmail integration (limited beta)
Gmail integration is currently in limited beta while we complete Google's verification process. It is not available to all users.
If you're interested in connecting Gmail, contact support@aggrandizelabs.com to join the waitlist. We'll notify you as soon as access is available for your account.
How to connect (for beta users)
If Gmail is enabled for your account:
- Open the Email section in Aggrandize
- Click Connect Your Email
- Choose Gmail
- Sign in with your Google account
- Review the permissions and click Allow
- Sync begins automatically
About the Google consent screen
During the beta, Google's consent screen will display a technical-looking domain name instead of "Aggrandize CRM." This is the address of our secure backend infrastructure — it is normal and expected.
This is safe to proceed with. Here's why:
- Google requires apps to complete a full verification process before branded names and logos appear on the consent screen. Our verification is in progress.
- The connection was initiated from within Aggrandize — you were redirected to Google directly from the app.
- The permissions requested (read, compose, and send email; manage labels) are exactly what's needed for email sync to work.
Once Google's verification is complete, the consent screen will display "Aggrandize CRM" with our logo. Until then, the unbranded screen is the only visual difference — the integration itself works identically.
If you have any concerns, contact support@aggrandizelabs.com before proceeding.
What gets synced
Gmail integration works the same way as Outlook:
- Your standard folders appear in the sidebar (Inbox, Sent, Drafts, Trash)
- Emails sync in near real time after the initial import (there may be a short delay due to how the Google Workspace API delivers notifications)
- Full-text search works across all synced messages
- You can compose, reply, and forward directly from Aggrandize
Manual sync
Click the three-dot menu at the bottom of the email sidebar and choose Sync Now to force an immediate sync instead of waiting for the next automatic update.
Disconnecting
To disconnect your Gmail account:
- Click the three-dot menu at the bottom of the email sidebar
- Click Disconnect Account
- You'll be asked whether to also delete contacts that were created from this email account
- Type your email address to confirm
| Option | What's deleted | What's kept |
|---|---|---|
| Disconnect only | All synced emails, folders, threads, and all email-to-deal/contact/company links | Contacts and deals themselves remain, but their email associations are removed |
| Disconnect + delete contacts | All of the above, plus all contacts originally created from this email account | Deals remain, but with no linked emails or email-sourced contacts |
Important — email links to deals are permanently lost. When you disconnect, all associations between email threads and deals, contacts, or companies are deleted. If you reconnect the same account later, emails will sync fresh with new internal IDs — previous deal links cannot be restored and would need to be re-created manually.
Your actual Gmail inbox is not affected — nothing is deleted from Google. You can reconnect later, but a full re-sync is required and previous email-to-deal links will not carry over.
Limitations during beta
- Gmail may not appear as an option if your account isn't in the beta program
- Some features available with Outlook (like category sync) are not yet available with Gmail
- Beta users may experience occasional sync delays as we refine the integration
